EARTH WATER The project in collaboration with the Municipality of Milan, for the redevelopment of the Old Town Hall of Locate Triulzi transforming the structure by creating a museum for the community that recalled the agricultural culture of the place and which also maintained the function of a place used for ceremonies and events. Service Exhibition & Museum Client the municipality of Milan Year 2020 The goal is to create a place that acts as a hub for the community, a meeting and aggregation point for the city, giving new life to the neighborhood. The space thus becomes a cultural pole where art is king. The center boasts a museum area dedicated to the theoretical and practical explanation of cultivation and irrigation methods, maintaining local roots thanks to unique pieces from the 1930s. The meeting and study space that allows the project to be experienced by the community is also fundamental. SECOND FLOOR BASEMENT GROUND FLOOR THE SPACES The building is divided into three floors. On the ground floor we find the hall, the mayor's room and the mezzanine. On the first we find the study area while in the basement there is the museum area and the "salon carètt". HALL A large and welcoming entrance that connects the different areas. We find the reception desk, the wall lift and the relaxation area. Going straight you go up to the mezzanine while going down the stairs you enter the museum area. MEZZANINE A space used for relaxation that overlooks the living room, creating a feeling of spatiality. The area is very illuminated with a view over the whole room and the large suspended wagon. SALON CARÈTT The main hall is the brightest space in the building where it is possible to have some recreational time. We have decided to translate the old unused archives into an exhibition installation. FRONT PORCH The porch, a relaxation area which coexists with the living room, creating a sense of continuity between the outside and the inside. MUSEUM ATRIUM The entire area is dedicated to the world of agriculture typical of the 1920s / 30s, in fact we find a 1920s plow on display near the stairs. MUSEUM ATRIUM The museum atrium is the part below the entrance to the building and is divided into two main rooms. WATER ROOM The first room focuses on the importance of water for cultivation. At the center is a mapping of the water channels in the Locatese area. ROOM OF THE EARTH The room is characterized by an interactive installation concerning the working of the earth. The structure recalls the interior of a farmhouse thanks to the presence of agricultural tools of the time. STUDY ROOM Located on the second floor, the area is used as a study. The large windows allow natural light to illuminate the environment. We find two desks with a small divider that can accommodate up to 16 people.
